Wow, your family and coworkers sound really supportive. Mine are all very stiff-upper-lip. I bet they don't even know what show "Sweet Transvestite" is from! Pulling teeth I might get them to sing along on "I Could Have Danced All Night," but that is about the limit. Not to mention the complete absence of pineapple juice.

oh, poor amelia.....my heart bleeds for you, poor, deprived one.....i see you dont come from tasmania....neither do i, but i live in a very OPEN MINDED part of melbourne.... I have never been to Tasmania, but I come from Northern California, where one imagines that people do that sort of thing all the time. Sadly, it just isn't so. Mom was too busy balancing the non-animal protein sources in our diet and Dad was reading about WWI fighter planes and, sure, it was funky in its way and all, but not at all as you describe it. Sniff!
