Is Md. Maryland? It is? Cool? Any amusing state/abbrev. anecdotes? No, well it is a lame topic, but I was curious, cos I saw Md. and wondered w-here it was.

Actually, the tourist board of Maine once tried an exceedingly lame advertising campaign based on their state abbreviation. The slogan was Lover, come back to ME.
Incidentally, the two-character abbreviations are properly written in all caps with no concluding punctuation. -- Amelia of NY |
