All of us are either sleeping or at work. Or both.

Wow! Everyone has always been convinced that New York had the most antiquated cable. Do you guys still need the box? My $200 TV is ten times smarter than my $40/month cable. But at least we get Cartoon Network. Woo-hoo! Power Puff Girls! But we don't get TV Land. That is the station I want for total wallowing.

*pout* yes we need the box. i hate set-top boxes. the enthusiasm of Oracle and Microsoft for making them just confirm for me how evil those bastards are. what is the point of having a VCR with its fancy ass tuner if the VCR can't tune in to the channel you want to record? oh, sure, you can use those stupid-ass little infrared doohickeys. like they'd work, i'm sure. Oakland has a far superior cable setup. we are lame.

I used to watch the Moomins back when the roads were paved with grit, and the Posh Noodle was a mere glint in the Golden Wonder executive's eye. I had a strange relationship with the Moomins. Being of European origin (anyone help me be a bit more specific?) it is both otherworldly, mesmerising, and absolutely bowel-looseningly terrifying to a six year old child. Especially that thing with the big eyes and red dress.

Surely that was the hot one, in the same vein as Smurfette? My own personal belief system holds that the evil looking one was called little 'something or other'. Not little Mo, for she is the one made of paper mache which has dripped a little. Soggy faced wench of yore.

I see the Smurfette thing, but as I remember there was only the little red head with the pointy face that was on the moomins, and wasn't all hippo-esque. Moomins came around twice. Once there was a crappy Belgian-sounding theme tune and the other was the "Come with me, I'll take your hand, I'll take (?) you off to Moominland" "Baa-ba-ba-baa Ba-baa-baa-ba-baa-baa" etc

Ah HA! I knew it! Its the way they de juice everything nowadays to make it all la la la bleedin' la. Its the first lot of moomin action, the original that scared the shite out of me. The new one is not scarey. I fear change on such a small and insignificant scale.

Small and insignificant? You're right to fear it. Its the changes like that you don't notice and when you turn round everyone is 15 feet tall, bright purple and all called Septimus.

Surely its when you turn your back on a lorry, and it turn into a 25 foot tall red robot called Optimus? Or is this thinking brough to you by Robinsons, and therefore invalid?
