I love it. I always wanted to live in New York, ever since I was a little kid wathcing "That Girl."
I get to go to museums and literary events and foreign movies and I don't have to apologize or feel snooty. People wear interesting clothes and walk around at all hours of the night. I don't need a car, which makes me feel very free, surfing around the city on trains, buses, and taxis. The food choices are not as good as Northern California, but better than about any other region in the USA. Central Park is two blocks away, so I spend more time outdoors than I ever did in the suburbs.
And whenever I watch the opening montage on Saturday Night Live, I still think, "New York looks so cool. Oh yeah! I live there!"
