Wimbledon again, eh? by Kid on 2001-06-26 01:10:14

So, its that time of year again. Over-paid former pros in the commentary box, wonderful (in Britain) coverage of any number of British (1 canadian) no-hopers. For the boys, young tennis-girls in skimpy outfits, ball-girls now in shorts (Boo!), and the continual reminder for those that want that Kournikova pulling out was probably the day this Wimbledon died. For the girls? Well, they can rest assured that perfect public schoolboy Henman will not win, yet the amazing ape will. Check it out at (No, Kid, don't post a link. No, wait. I'll learn how, then do it....back in a bit....) :

Yadda yadda yadda. Four times already today, instead of someone saying; Venus Williams has dropped in the rankings to 4, and Wimbledon Champ Serna is above her, I've heard "In the women's draw there's no Kournikova". There's no Hingis either. Is she not worth a mention? Apparently not. Predictions? Or just leave it? Yeah I thought so. Looks like rain.

Well, I enjoyed it. Especially the men's...that was great fun. Federer (aw, how sweet was that. With his...who was it? His girlfriend? His wife? His sister? getting so nervous at the end) and the unwritten bit of Phillippousis...good fortnight, I thought. Would have preferred Pete Sampras to've been there, mind
