Damn it. Because of time/effort/ink/paper/time I can't print out an amazing collection of Mark Twain's (or Samuel Clemens, as he was then) newspaper articles from the early 1860's. It's not like I've been looking for them for years in book form, and willing to pay over the odds. I can't even save them and read them on this computer, because it hurts my eyes to. What do I want? Sympathy, no. Understanding, yes. Empathy, yes. Humouring, very much so.
