Yes, it very much is that time of year again, the 'madness' time that the early summer heralds. The symptoms so far? We have World's Most Irritating Man John McCririck doing Royal Ascot. We have GMTV people dressing up as if they were going to Ladies Day (tomorrow). We have, perhaps worst of all, Jamie Oliver being honoured by the Queen, and...blow me down, a new 20 over form of cricket. Will any stay around? Well, clearly the former pair will disappear by the end of the week, perhaps to replaced by a similar Wimbledon theme, but the latter two? They better not catch on. I'll be waiting, hoping, praying...

	Possibly the BBC & Sky conspiring to make it different, you know, a little gimmickry to incite the people.

	Yeah, there is that, but surely endless fours and sixes are equally boring? Its not like Basketball is any better than American Football for all its scoring, is it? No, they're intriguing in their own way.
