parent: Wow, this is almost like SFNET

Re: Wow, this is almost like SFNET by Demi Monde on 2003-08-09 22:15:56

I miss SFNet sometimes. A substantial number of the people there were tweakers, nasties, and weirdos, but to this day I've never found anyplace else that had such good live chat. Well, it doesn't take a (quasi-futuristic and Jetsonian) rocket scientist - or even a logic expert - to see that there just might be a causal connection at work here. 03: DEMI MONDE <---nasty tweaker weirdo extraordinaire ps; Is this MOLLY MIRBANE by any chance? pps: This got posted twice because I dun' skr00ed up da first one wit' an oopsie.

Nope, this is somebody else (keeping SFNet handle under wraps because, well, there *were* nasties and weirdos there). But the tweaking and weirding would make for good live chat, I concur. ;) DM, I never thought of you as a nasty. I'll have to take your word for it about the tweaking, though. Weird, without a doubt, but wearing it like a badge of honor!

I agree with you Demi - that mix made the chat what it was - and even now I still pine for those 11pm java binges with people that would at least push my brain just that little bit further than it was willing to go on its own. Funny how we all seem to be gravitating back to re-connect to it - it was many of those tweakers, nasties and weirdo's that made it the unique place that it was - even if you wanted to club them over the head sometimes ;)

Tweakers, sure, can't have high-speed chat without tweaking on something. Weirdos, the same. Nasties, though... they're the reason I quit hanging round.

Luckily I just left the country so the Nasties never made me quit (although I can't say I blame you). Pity there wasn't a way just to keep the good ones together. I guess I still have my slightly cracked rose tinted glasses on about it - I became rather fond of those Tweakers and Nasties many of them were rather good to me. And god - in hindsite why the hell did I EVER pick that handle?????
