It all went away because some people took personal offense at Today, and once I started clearing brush, everything looked like a nail. To mix a metaphor or two. People were still using the Wishes & Whines? I'll put it back, I would never have guessed...

"some people"? -- what deviants had the nerve to censor -- !!!!!!! I liked 'Today' because that's how I first discovered you. I came acrost one of your daily bloggings several years ago ("Ring Out Bells of Joy" I think it was) and you were talking about a sandwich and it was hilarious. So -- three cheers for Tater genius!

Someone complained about Today? ??? Fuck 'em! It's your site, for heaven's sake. It's your space to talk about, well, whatever you want to talk about. I remember the last Today, and while it seemed a bit apocalyptic, all things considered I can see how one might feel that way. Bring back Today too. I am, honest to Betsy, interested in what you have to say.

Darn, I forgot to say this: Glad to see you still lurking about in the underbrush. The other thing about Today is that I enjoyed reading it. To the extent that you can stand to write it, I can stand to read it.

September 3, 1998, it was, on www.worstoftheweb.com. As I recall, Tater proudly displayed his W.O.W. award on the index page for many years. Yes, Wash, for several of us, this has become something quite... clinical!
