SATAN DRIVES TO WORK

  I'm Melllting...

10:13 PM: Wheeeee! I bought some, uh oh. What was it? Hang on.

Ah! "Valerian Root Complex", with Valerian, Kava Kava, and Passion Flower. So that maybe I could stop snarling at people here, which I have been doing way too much lately no matter how fun it is. Also so that maybe I wouldn't end the day with the usual crushing sense of pointlessness. And also also so that just maybe I could get kind of high.

Score so far: Valerian/KavaKava/Placebo 109, FormlessAnxiety 0. On half the recommend dose, too. I wouldn't want to have to respond quickly to anything right now, but it's perfect for coding. It feels just like having been up way too long in code trance, when your arms begin to feel like they would float away into the air if you didn't keep them busy typing.

On the other hand, I did snarl this afternoon, but I think it was a legitmate snarl. I was on the phone and someone in the media room next to my desk was playing some god-awful crap way too loud, forgetting that the wall doesn't reach the ceiling, and so doesn't block the sound.

Neat. New drug!

D'oh, btw, in the weekend media roundup I completely forgot that I went to see Rushmore Sunday night. It's a fine film, a funny film, a Bill Murray film, a cute English girl film, but I don't know if I would say it was a great film. I was more impressed by Election, but then, it was more serious anyway. I think Rushmore aimed to be just about as good as it was, and that's nice in its own right.

Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.

All names are fake, most places are real, the author is definitely unreliable but it's all in good fun. Yep.
