wanna go HOME now...
SATAN DRIVES TO WORK

  Cheez-Its, By The Way

14 October 1999

6:30: The exodus continues - my most recent theoretical "manager" is quitting, her last day is tomorrow, and apparently everyone knew but me. I heard someone mention it and thought they were joking. When I asked, just to make sure, it seemed like all anyone could say was, "Duh! That's so old news!" Made me wanna whack em with a rolled-up newspaper, I tell you what.

On the other hand, my office crush swears she's not quitting. Honest. Oh, don't be so cynical.

Brief entry tonight, must dash off to see The Life of Galileo by Bertolt Brecht at Berkeley Rep. V. excited. Got a glowing review by Robert Hurwitt, father of Sam, in the Examiner. And the director is Mark Wing-Davey, who did Mad Forest and the recent productions of Angels in America and Perestroika, all the best kind of crazed overstimulated intellectual spectacle. I believe I am safe in saying that it will rock.

They want me to be an engineer again. Damn it! Just when I had completely obliterated the boundaries of my job here. On the other hand, I keep reading about UN employees being kidnapped and shot. So maybe I'll give it a try for a while.

Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.

All names are fake, most places are real, the author is definitely unreliable but it's all in good fun. Yep.
