S.F. Voters Favoring Boulevard Over Freeway
Dan Levy, Chronicle Staff Writer
Wednesday, November 3, 1999
SF GATE UPDATE: The decision on the two Central Freeway measures turned around this afternoon as voters appear to be endorsing the creation of Octavia Boulevard. As of 5 p.m., Proposition I, calling for the boulevard, led by 54 to 46 percent, while Prop. J, calling for the rebuilding and retrofit of the quake-damaged freeway, trailed 47 percent to 53 percent. The turnaround was attributed to the counting of liberal votes supporting the write-in candidacy of Supervisor Tom Ammiano. About 35,000 votes are left to be counted.

EARLIER STORY
A San Francisco ballot measure endorsing a seismic retrofit of the quake-damaged Central Freeway was maintaining a wide lead early this morning. A competing ballot proposition, which envisioned tearing down the freeway in favor of turning lower Octavia Street into a broad new boulevard, trailed in the early returns and was given slim chances of overtaking the freeway measure, Proposition J.
Bahahahahaha. Suffer, drivers.

It does look like Ammiano will get into the runoff against Brown, too. That's fun but less important, probably, since he'll never win. My God, if you thought the local papers were crucifying the leftie DA for not throwing enough pimps and drug dealers in jail, it'll be nothing to what they do to Ammiano if they think they have to take him seriously, instead of as the local pinko buffoon. "Oh, That Tom! This week, he thinks we should stop doing business with Burma! Burma! What, and give up shaving lotion? Buahahaha!"

I wish I could blame the election for being so sleepy, but if anything I turned in early last night. There's never any rational pattern to it. Beer foamy. Beer good. More beer! Where woman?

PS: D'oh.

Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.

All names are fake, most places are real, the author is definitely unreliable but it's all in good fun. Yep.
