SATAN DRIVES TO WORK

  An Hour of Darkness

5 January 2000

8:50 PM: Oh yah, for sure it's winter now, OK. When I start nodding out in the afternoon after getting up at 10 - not even 9, 10 - I know there's no use fighting it, or fretting about how listless and dull I'm being. This is the Dull & Listless Season. The sun will return soon enough. Until then, I'll just do what I can and sleep a lot.

Apart from near-coma, not much exciting today. I had tea before coming in to work, which was quite nice until I tried to do too many things at the same time and spilled the hot water from the teapot on the backs of the fingers of my left hand. Ow. I think they're OK now, though I can see these faint white marks. No idea what to do about burns anyway.

Oh, and I didn't get a lunch date, but I did get to have coffee in the park with my office crush today, talking about stuff workish and unworkish. She's leaving end of February. Poot. Maybe I'll just go back to Janeane Garofalo. Although she's hanging out a lot with that Ben Stiller clown...

Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.

All names are fake, most places are real, the author is definitely unreliable but it's all in good fun. Yep.
