SATAN DRIVES TO WORK

  Pure Hick Parsing

11:31 PM: Is this thing on? Tap tap tap. Check, 1 2! Check, 1 2!

I am slowly, slowly bringing this site into the mid-90s. Today was my "vacation" day, which normally means my "work 10 hours on this freelance stuff that i only signed up for god knows why, oh yeah, money" day. But, this Today, the work was not ready for me. Time on hands.

So now, I'm trying to see if this will just automagically show up in the archives. Let's look!

11:36: Hey, it does! Waddya know. Now I only have to do four stupid things to get a new entry up. Someday, lad, all this will be yours....

While I'm here, typical news day. Good news on the East Coast, bad news on the West. But if I hadda pick, I'm happier about the judge in the 2600/DeCSS case indicating that he may rule on First Amendment grounds. This is the more heinous power grab, really, if the MPAA loses it cuts right into the stupider bits of the Digital Moneygrubbing Copywrong Act. Napster, on the other hand, who cares? The company might go whoosh, and that's a shame for them. But you can't sue Gnutella.

Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.

All names are fake, most places are real, the author is definitely unreliable but it's all in good fun. Yep.
