| | 'KICKS', not 'kick's'!. Anything else you'd like to share? Is it what we'd expect? Is it harder/softer? Is he singing about love or murder? Descriptions are advantageous in these situations.P.S. - Has he played KCRW yet? (I guess he wouldn't be right for M.B.E. - although without the description, I cannot tell.....
Oh, and how about Eminem's album being rushed out because of pirating? Surely there's better things to get? Well, who am I to judge?

  | | I've never been an actual fan, but, he was a guest on "Loveline" a few nights ago and they played three cuts from the album. I liked all of them. And, well, you know,
he's mostly good ol' fashioned R&R -- two of the cuts were
just that -- he does a remix of David Bowie's "Fame" and then winds up with his own lyrics and musical spin on it --
which I liked immensely!! The one that I really liked was
a sort-of ballad-y song, the lyrics to which were an obvious
tribute to his having fucked-up his relationship with Pam.
Something about "feeling blue", "without you" etc. etc. etc.
(what am I? a music critic?)

  | | Now that's what I wanted from the start! (What? Do I stand in the way of joy and enthusiasm? So bite me) And its good to critique - shows the brain is in gear, the thought process ongoing.... I do get the feeling that a lot of his lyrics would be gratingly simple, I prefer having to think...not being able to get a song unless you put the effort in - it makes the whole song....the whole language, for me.

  | | f' you too... besides, you KNOW my brain is in gear! I would say my roots are in R&R (with some Metallica thrown in) and the album in question just hit that nerve. I don't purchase music -- I just like to listen to different stuff
on the radio... much in the same way I don't like to purchase books and instead use the library...
I'm assuming you are referring to Sinatra's thought-provoking
"scooby-dooby-doo" lyrics. Jeez, Kid. Go listen to "The Lamb
Lies Down on Broadway" 150 million times and give us a report what eh? Preferrably "Carpet Crawlers", because, you know...you've gotta get in to get out! |

  | | Hey, life is chock full of regrets! So, regret away my friend! We can, of course, actually be friends here in Taterland....
Glad we have an understanding....

  | | This is my point. Everything I ever write either here or elsewhere is blown dramatically out of context, and people end up taking things the wrong way, which upsets me, because I never mean to offend anybody. Unless I do, but then I really go for them, taking no prisoners, as they say. But I accept the branch of friendship you hold up. And thank you.
