parent: No Ovaltine please!

Re: No Ovaltine please! by BOT0955 on 2004-01-03 19:54:13

Yes, I also can remember those large, ragged-looking, rich dark brown, crystals. When I was a little kid in the early 60's, I spent an occassional night at my grandma's house. She would always give me a glass of hot Ovaltine before bedtime, I always looked forward to it. I agree with you that the stuff they make now just isn't the same. I would settle for an old empty brown glass jar, but I can't even find one on eBay, must be quite rare!

Who remembers Ovaltine coming in a clear glass clown container? The top of the clown hat has a red cap to pour the Ovaltine out. The container was made in the early 1960's. My brother has it in his possession, but it's NOT for sale. I wish Ovaltine would bring the clown container back for its centennial celebration. My sister and I would like to have one, too. I still purchase Ovaltine at my local Wal-Mart store. Kare K
