	I can! I was here, only 4 years younger. Only attitudes towards you change in 4 years, rather than personal state!

	Soaking in the mineral water at 1: http://ww.harbin.org Harbin Hot Springs and whomping up blissful vegetarian food-fests in the communal kitchen. That was a great vacation. Now I am working working working, with just a wee weekend break for dinner and a movie. Where did I go wrong?

4 years ago, that was what... 1996? so okay, hmmm. actually i have no idea what i was doing. i was living in San Francisco again by then. i think that was right about the time that all the cool girls moved out of my apartment and were replaced by the stupid boys, who ended up trashing it so badly i had to throw the *silverware* away, no kidding. and there was Worm Nerd!!! yes, more than 4 years of the nerd. ain't that something.

Here we are again, on the eve of a major tournament and our attention is taken to this time 4 years ago! I remember having just finished a-levels, and, planning on enjoying the euro championships before heading to Lloret with Ringo* Skiddy and Goau! The Euros were a shambles: it all ended in tears, outside a pub in Dyooosbry - thanks for that, Phil Neville! But Lloret ended sweetly, and that's where life really kicked off! Yes, i am 4 years old! Lloret, I didn't go - I wouldn't go today either (I can make good decisions). I remember that pub, too. I saw it when I was wandering round waiting for a train the other day. I wouldn' t say I was 4 years old, though...

Nearly four years ago to the day I was resting at the peak of a 14,000ft mountain somewhere in the Sangre De Cristo chain of mountains in SE Colorado watching the clear blue sky change to a menacing dark thunderhead formation. Within a span of approximately 30 minutes I went from a state of incredible tranquility to utter terror. Rain does not terrify me, I think it quite peace inducing but lightning sure the fuck flips the switch to absolute childlike incapacitating horror especially when it strikes in a high altitude area above the treeline. Thor looking down upon me and giving it his best shot missed. I have never run at full speed down a steep incline before in my life but the sound of lightning striking close enough to my body to electrostatically charge my skin was impetus enough. So, a lesson learned and death avoided June 2000.
